Josie! - Stagg Tom DeLonge-Inspired Strat-Style Electric Guitar | Blue

Josie is a wonderfully entertaining Stagg Strat-style electric guitar, finished in an attractive blue with a white pearloid scratchplate and a custom single-humbucker configuration inspired by Tom DeLonge’s iconic Stratocaster.

For fans of Blink-182 and early-2000s pop-punk, the appeal is immediately obvious. Josie combines familiar Strat-style looks with the simplicity of a single bridge pickup and master volume control, offering an affordable alternative to the considerably more expensive official signature models.

At the heart of the guitar is a particularly impressive high-output, Invader-style humbucker, complete with oversized pole pieces. Although its manufacturer is unknown, the pickup delivers a thick, aggressive sound with plenty of punch, making Josie especially enjoyable for crunchy rhythm playing, palm-muted riffs and powerful distorted chords.

The simplified electronics feature a single master volume control, without a tone control or pickup selector. This straightforward arrangement keeps the focus firmly on playing.

Josie’s comfortable double-cutaway body is paired with a bolt-on maple neck and rosewood fingerboard. Chrome hardware, six-in-line machine heads and a fixed, string-through-body hardtail bridge complete the instrument. Unlike a traditional Stratocaster tremolo, the hardtail design requires no spring balancing and provides a simple, dependable playing experience.

The guitar is previously owned and displays some scratches and cosmetic marks consistent with use. Its blue finish remains attractive, and the instrument presents very nicely overall.

As part of The Stray Chord’s restoration process, Josie has received a full service and setup, including fret levelling, crowning and polishing, ensuring she is ready for her next home.

Josie is not an official Tom DeLonge Signature guitar, nor is the pickup being represented as a genuine Seymour Duncan Invader. She is, however, a genuinely enjoyable and affordable guitar for anyone who appreciates that distinctive pop-punk look and sound.

With Christmas approaching, we’re deliberately introducing more affordable instruments to help make quality, professionally prepared guitars accessible to more players.
