Meet Delilah, a PRS SE Tonare P20E parlour-sized acoustic-electric guitar combining a solid mahogany top, ebony fingerboard, PRS hybrid X/Classical bracing and Fishman Sonitone GT1 electronics.
Delilah was discovered at the back of a cupboard after being bought with the best of intentions but seeing very little use. Although fundamentally in lovely condition, dry fretboard wood, sharp fret ends and an indifferent factory setup meant she wasn't playing to her potential.
Following extensive fretwork, conditioning and a complete professional setup at The Stray Chord, Delilah was brought back to life and successfully rehomed for £390.
About Delilah
The PRS SE Tonare P20E takes the traditional compact parlour guitar and gives it a distinctly modern PRS interpretation.
Its small Tonare body makes it comfortable for sofa playing, songwriting and travelling while retaining considerably more projection and low-end presence than its dimensions might suggest.
At its heart is a solid mahogany top, supported by PRS's hybrid X/Classical bracing and paired with mahogany back and sides. A mahogany neck and ebony fingerboard continue the dark timber aesthetic, with PRS's instantly recognisable bird inlays providing the finishing touch.
A compensated bone saddle and bone nut help provide clean string response and accurate intonation.
Delilah is equally at home plugged in. The discreet Fishman Sonitone GT1 pickup system, voiced for PRS, provides natural amplified acoustic tones without cluttering the guitar with a large control panel. Volume and tone controls are positioned discreetly inside the soundhole.
Her Satin Black finish is complemented by an ivory pickguard and contrasting ivory and houndstooth-style binding, creating an understated but distinctive take on the traditional parlour guitar.
Restoration & setup
Despite having seen very little playing time, Delilah's factory finishing and prolonged storage left considerable room for improvement.
During her rehabilitation at The Stray Chord she received:

- Frets crowned and polished to a mirror finish
- Sharp fret ends carefully dressed and rounded
- Fingerboard edges rolled for a smoother, played-in feel
- Ebony fingerboard thoroughly cleaned and conditioned
- Truss rod adjusted

- Intonation checked
- Electronics tested
- Body and hardware thoroughly cleaned
- Fresh set of D'Addario EJ16 Phosphor Bronze Light 12–53 strings
- Final playability inspection
The result was a considerably smoother-playing P20E with comfortable action, clean fretwork and a responsive, buzz-free setup.
