It’s flat. It’s fast.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eBasically, the sort of neck that looks at the first three frets of a pentatonic scale and asks whether we’re planning to do anything else today.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eBut Lazarus has undergone a little alteration during his previous life.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThe \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eRG350EXZ originally left Ibanez with an HSH pickup configuration\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003e.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eLazarus has apparently decided that three pickups were showing off.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThe middle single coil has been removed, leaving him with a much cleaner \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eHH configuration\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003e, accompanied by a replacement black pickguard.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eTwo humbuckers. No middle pickup getting involved.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eApparently even RGs occasionally discover minimalism.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eAnd then we get to the bridge.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eOh good.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eAnother one.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eLazarus is equipped with Ibanez’s \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eEdge-Zero II double-locking tremolo with ZPS3Fe stabilising system\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003e, designed to help the bridge return to its zero position and generally make living with a floating trem slightly less like negotiating with an angry mechanical octopus.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThere is still a locking nut.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThere are still fine tuners.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThere are still springs around the back.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThere is still absolutely no sensible reason to decide you’d quite like to try a different string gauge fifteen minutes before leaving the house.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eBut once properly set up, the Edge-Zero II is a seriously capable piece of hardware, allowing everything from subtle vibrato to the sort of dive bombs that suggest somebody has dropped a wardrobe down a lift shaft.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eAnd Lazarus has now been properly sorted.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eHe’s been through our full Stray rehabilitation process, including a thorough clean, fret levelling, crowning and polishing, fret-end attention, hardware and electronics checks and a complete professional setup.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThe glossy black is glossy again.
